A great way to improve the reliability, feeding performance, and feel of your 1911 pistol is to have the feed ramps polished. This is especially true on more budget friendly models, which tend to have machining marks on both the frame and barrel feed ramps.
These marks add a significant amount of friction to the nose of the projectile as it slides upward toward the chamber, slowing the action and sometimes causing stoppages.
We'll remove those marks without changing the crucial geometry of the feed ramps, allowing rounds to feed smoothly from magazine to chamber. After polishing, your pistol will feel much smoother when chambering a round.
This process leaves a mirror finish on the steel, rendering it almost impervious to corrosion. Basic cleaning and oiling of the firearm will keep the mirror finish shining for years to come without further protection.
